ACP refers to the Affordable Connectivity Program. This program provides eligible households with broadband service and discounts on connected devices. This $14 billion program is run by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) program. It is a program that offers many low-income households cheap internet and price advantages for laptop and tablet devices that connect to the internet. Household members who want to apply for the program should visit the Acpbenefit.org Application page.

What is ACP program?

ACP both provides a discount on your monthly internet bill and provides a discount when purchasing your internet-connected devices. To take advantage of these benefits, all you need to do is sign up for a plan from a participating internet provider. ACP is a replacement for Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB). The benefits they provide to low-income households are very similar. Citizens who benefit from EBB’s $ 50 monthly discount until March 1, 2022 will transfer to ACP after this date. The benefit of ACP is a $30 monthly discount on internet bills. In addition to the internet bill discount, ACP also provides a $100 device discount on purchases of laptops, desktop computers or tablets.

We can say that ACP is the extended version of EBB. Therefore, if you are eligible for EBB, you are probably also eligible for ACP. Your household income needs to be 200% or less than the federal poverty level. You can refer to the table below to see the level of your household income according to the number of family members.

To apply for the ACP Benefit program, follow these steps:

Step 1: First, check your eligibility for this program. You can check your household income according to the number of household members in the table above. If you have Lifeline benefits already, you do NOT need to apply for ACP. You qualify automatically, just let the Home Internet Provider of your choice know you have Lifeline now.
